Fire Hydrant Men

The other day, I was acquainting myself with Backs Records, a shop, label, and distributor that was part of the Cartel, a distro cooperative run by a handful of U.K. indies back in the 80s, 90s. One of their releases, Fire Hydrant Men's Missed It by That Much!, popped at me (with a title and cover like that, not to mention a feature from a mysterious entity known only as the Fabulous Fezettes, how could it not?), and I found myself immediately tracking it down. It's a buoyant, carefree slice of 60s-laced twee pop that will certainly make you smile. Imagine, say, Marine Girls fronted by Lora Logic instead of Tracey Thorn and you're most of the way there.
