Cud

A rollicking good time from Cud for this sunny Sunday afternoon.

A Leodisian band from the 80s, 90s that took the plodding thump of the Wedding Presents' jangle and grafted it onto a party-time Madchester template. The lead singer, Carl Puttnam, has the quiver of Jello Biafra, and it fills their music with a breezy SoCal fun.

The album I'm sharing here, Asquarius, was produced by the Mekons' Jon Langford, whos dirtbag power-pop sensibilities dovetailed nicely with Cud's.
