The Yummy Fur

Before Franz Ferdninand, Alex Kapranos and Paul Thomson were in a Brit-pop-adjacent group called the Yummy Fur, which simmered in post-Fall art-rock and sleazy gutter-blues Jon Spencer of the time while presaging the biting dance-punk that was to come in the early aughts.

Specifically, units of a more demented sort, like Liars, though unlike them, Yummy Fur, named so after a Chester Brown comic (after my own heart), had plenty of devil-may-care Glaswegian libido stirred in, filling them with the sort of greasy swagger that garage revivalist like the Hives traded in.
