Kissing the Pink, "Love Lasts Forever"

A group that I should probably dedicate more words to, but that's not what's in the cards today. Just giving you a light glossing.

Heady new wave group from London that started off with "Don't Hide in the Shadows," a Martin Hannett-produced, somewhat baroque record that had the cerebral texturing of an XTC tune and the bounce of something much less serious.

Their debut album kept the icy coldness and rawboned spareness of the debut while lifting the whole affair into a dancier register that sometimes feels like a strange concoction of Kate Bush melancholia, Talking Heads herky-jerkiness, Fad Gadget art-shool affectation.
